Other past Chairmen to receive awards were Mark Fishburn, and Mike Tighe. Cindi Greiner was recognized for her excellent work as the forum’s founding administrator.
The MEF Certification Programs are now the envy of the industry and a group of individuals were recognized that not only played instrumental roles in the development of the certification program at the earliest stages, but have contributed to the growth and success over many years; namely – Peter Reed, Bob Mandeville, Isabelle Morency and Eric Puetz.
Without the efforts of a driven marketing organization, the MEF’s technical work would run the risk of being the “best kept secret in town” and the globalization of Carrier Ethernet and MEF specifications would not have occurred. Recognized at the awards dinner were a group of individuals that were instrumental in establishing the marketing function through tireless efforts or thatplayed a very significant role in expanding and scaling the MEF’s marketing activities globally. The goup included Ed Chang, Kamran Sistanizadeh, Colin Evans, Daniel Bar-Lev, Louise Wasilewski, Phil Tilley and Carlos Benavides.
The work of the Technical Committee is highly regarded and recognized globally with 30+ specifications, implementation agreements and test suites playing an essential role in the foundation and success of Carrier Ethernet. The MEF recognized a group of individuals who have had a profound impact on the success of the Technical Committee and the MEF. Awards were presented to Andy Mayer, Enrique Hernandez-Valencia, Tim Frost, Dinesh Mohan, Sharam Davari, Bill Rembert, Steve Haddock, Matt Squire, John Lemon, Henry Fowler, Steve Mood, Pascal Menezes and Raghu Ranganathan in recognition of their outstanding contributions.
This next group of individuals to receive awards were those who have made huge contributions, leading many MEF key initiatives, some in more than one committee. Their work and leadership had an extremely positive impact on the success of the MEF and the industry as a whole. This group included Criag Easley, Ralph Santitoro, Mark Whalley, Lionel Florit, Paul Bottorff and Bill Bjorkman.
AnOutstanding Technical Leadership award was presented to Bob Klessig, a founding Dirctor and Technical Committee Co-chair from 2001 to 2007. Bob’s technical leadership and expertise has had a profound impact on the success and globally acknowledged technical work of the MEF and the industry. He continues to contribute to the MEF today.
Finally, an Outstanding Industry Leadership award was presented to Nan Chen. Nan’s vision of moving Ethernet from the LAN to the WAN combined with his energy and passion has been the driving force behind the foundation and success of the MEF and the Carrier Ethernet industry as a whole, having been acknowledged by the Forum’s membership and Board through his continuing appointment as President since the inception of the MEF in 2001.
