Metro Ethernet services for enterprises are in highest demand and  73% of Nemertes Research benchmark participants are deploying Ethernet-based services.   This is up from just 52% a year ago.

Of the varying forms of Ethernet services, metro Ethernet is the most popular according to Nemertes as 63% of the research participants are deploy it today and most are linking to large remote facilities, data centers etc.

So why is Carrier Ethernet so interesting?  Bandwidth as Ethernet services typically deliver some of the highest-available bandwidth in the WAN. Secondly, simplicity: Ethernet services are often plug-and-play.
