XO Communications announces now offers Carrier Ethernet access to its nationwide Ethernet infrastructure which reaches nearly four million buildings.  This new service connectivity with CENX enables the global Carrier Ethernet community connectivity at bandwidths from 3 Mbps to 10 Gbps to locations served by XO.  

CENX connection and integration services make Carrier Ethernet connection to and from XO's large footprint seamless and simple.  XO Communications Ethernet Services, offered with demanding SLA'a and granular bandwidth options, are utilized in more than 75 metropolitan  cities and where XO delivers last-mile Ethernet over Copper.   Reaching XO-served locations at speeds as low as 3 Mbps engages a tremendous number of new business opportunities to customers connected via the CENX exchange.

Carrier Ethernet Global Interconnect Demonstration & Showcase at Light Reading's Ethernet Europe 2010

EANTC, ancotel, and Light Reading launched a new extensive program for service providers to validate and showcase end-to-end Carrier Ethernet services across multiple carriers; the second phase of the program, including a demo, will debut at Ethernet Europe 2010.

Service Provider Interconnect Standardized to Bring Global Reach to Carrier Ethernet

Today at the NetEvents conference in Barcelona Spain, the MEF announced the ratification of MEF 26.   This specification which defines Phase 1 of the External Network to Network Interface (ENNI), standardizes the reference point between service providers' MEF Certified Carrier Ethernet networks and services, marks a significant advance in the MEF's Global Interconnect Program.
