Biography
Mannix O’Connor is Director of Marketing for Hitachi Communications Technologies America. Mr. O’Connor was the founding Secretary of the IEEE 802.17 Working Group and earlier contributed to the carrier extension and packet bursting protocols in IEEE 802.3z and IEEE 802.3ab. He is co-chair of the Access Working Group at the MEF and a founding member of the Resilient Packet Ring Alliance. Mr. O’Connor’s most recent publication, “Delivering Carrier Ethernet” was published by McGraw-Hill. He has held Director and VP positions at Corrigent Systems, Lantern Communications, MRV Communications, Nortel Networks, Bay Networks and Synoptics. He has spoken on switching and optical networking at Supercomm, ComNet, Networld & Interop, Convergence India, Comdex Argentina, and the Congreso Internacional de Telefonia IP Mexico. Mr. O’Connor holds an MBA from George Washington University and lives in San Jose, CA.
