Can an operator implement ENNI today? Does it require installation of new hardware?

I believe that some service providers do have E-NNI today.
MEF makes an effort to define new interfaces in a manner that enables existing hardware to support the new specifications. I do not expect E-NNI to be an exception.

E-NNI is already in the market, but usually based on EVPL, so layer 2 protocol transparency. Would be great to have some MEF standards as it takes so long to define it.
