Hi,
I am researching for a Carrier Ethernet final project and dissertation I must complete for my BSc (Hons) Information Technology & Computing. I chose this technology to research because it is emerging and formative and also because I would like to work in this community when my degree is finished in September this year. However, I have run into a problem with obtaining hard quantitative data on
a) CE performance standards (by MEF or vendors if not)
d) ATM performance standards (from ATM Forum/Broadband Forum or vendors if not)
b) perfomance analysis tests in testbeds,real-life networks or modelling
c) comparative data for CE vs ATM natively or over SONET/SDH
I am looking for the usual metrics for QoS evaluation: frame loss, delay, jitter, errored frames, restoration times etc. Particularly performance data achieved in reality for higher bandwidth and mission-critical services.
If there is anyone out there who can either send me a link to resources or provide me with any hard performance data, so I can do a meaningful comparison of CE with ATM and legacy system data transmission standards, I would be eternally grateful.
