400G Ready Centillion 2 Platform to Go Live in January 2018

NEW YORK – October 2, 2017 TELEHOUSE, a KDDI Group company and the global leader for data centers, international internet exchanges and managed IT services, today announces it will upgrade the current New York International Internet Exchange (NYIIX) Centillion platform to Centillion 2 to meet strong market demands for 100G ports.

NYIIX was founded in 1996.  It is one of the largest public peering exchange points on the U.S. East Coast with seven locations, including 85 Tenth Avenue, 7 Teleport Drive, 60 Hudson, 1118th Avenue and 32 Avenue of Americas.  In New Jersey, NYIIX has two locations, 165 Halsey in Newark, and 2 Emerson Lane in Secaucus.

Currently the NYIIX Centillion platform is based on Brocade MLX-E routers that offer a limited number of 100G port capacity.  To address this issue, the Centillion 2 platform will consist of Brocade SLX routers for both core routers and edge routers, which increase the number of available 100G ports quite significantly. Additionally, the Centillion 2 platform is 400G ready.  The new platform is scheduled to go live in January 2018.

In line with the overall business growth, the peering traffic through NYIIX has been steadily rising. Reports show the current traffic peaking at over 495 Gigabits per second in September and will reach and exceed 500 Gigabits per second shortly.

“I am pleased to announce the new Centillion 2 platform,” says Akio Sugeno, Vice President, Internet Engineering, Operations and Business Development, Telehouse America.  “The current market demands have accelerated our need to upgrade the platform.  Strong demands for 100G ports are the result of our continuing ability to increase NYIIX members along with customer confidence in our service. Such an accomplishment proves that NYIIX is one of the most important IXPs in the United States.”

Seaborn’s Seabras-1 and Aqua Comms’ AEConnect Subsea Cable Systems Now Interconnect to Create Newest Route Between São Paulo and London

Boston and Dublin — September 29,  2017 — Seaborn Networks (“Seaborn”), the owner-operator of the most direct subsea fiber network between São Paulo and New York, and Aqua Comms DAC ("Aqua Comms"), the operator of Ireland’s first dedicated subsea fiber-optic network interconnecting New York, Dublin and London, announced today the formation of a strategic alliance to provide a new, next-generation subsea route between South America and Europe.  Seaborn’s Seabras-1 subsea cable system now directly interconnects with Aqua Comms’ America-Europe Connect (AEConnect) subsea cable network.  The offering is available exclusively through Seaborn and Aqua Comms.

Seaborn’s Seabras-1 provides the fastest route between the New York-New Jersey metro area and São Paulo.  Aqua Comms’ AEConnect provides the newest and most direct route between New York and London via Dublin.  The two submarine cable systems will interconnect in Secaucus, New Jersey, in the location of Seaborn’s primary network operations center.  Both Seaborn and Aqua Comms offer geographically diverse backhaul and a variety of Points of Presence (PoP) locations in the metropolitan areas relating to their landing locations.

Customers will have the ability to contract through either Seaborn or Aqua Comms to receive the full benefit of this combined South America to Europe route.

This strategic alliance offers a number of benefits to customers, including:

  • consolidated capacity contracts and billing with industry-leading SLAs;
  • the newest network architecture with 100Gbps coherent technology on an end-to-end solution;
  • Seaborn’s proprietary ultra-low latency solutions for financial institutions;
  • a direct relationship with the operators who built and operate the submarine cable infrastructure and backhaul routes for their respective systems, providing higher quality of service and improved information access; and
  • a route to and from South America that avoids the hurricane-prone areas of Florida, the Caribbean and Bermuda.

“We are extremely pleased to partner with Aqua Comms to offer this precedent-setting Europe to South America route,” said Larry Schwartz, CEO,  Seaborn Networks. “Our organizations are like-minded operators with a shared view of how to offer best-in-class solutions for telecommunications companies, content providers, ISPs, governments and enterprises.”

“Aqua Comms and Seaborn share heritage and a common ethos for efficiently providing innovative, flexible and reliable connectivity solutions to the Atlantic telecommunications market,” remarked Nigel Bayliff, CEO, Aqua Comms.  “We both specialize in developing, constructing and operating modern, sophisticated submarine cable systems, and partnering will help us provide customers with the benefits of both conjoined networks.”

The strategic alliance between Seaborn and Aqua Comms also relates to future systems and branches that either of the parties may subsequently build and operate, thereby offering maximum flexibility to the respective customers of each operator.

Company Assists High-Tech Vendors and Service Providers to Maximize Results From Channel and Alliance Partner Programs

Alexandria, VA, September 27, 2017 – Achieve Unite, a performance partnering company, today announces the official launch of its organization, dedicated to assisting high-tech vendors and service providers to achieve measurable growth by delivering state-of-the-art channel and alliance partner programs.

Achieve Unite, whose team has a proven track record of helping companies derive the maximum benefit from their channel and alliance partner initiatives, customizes its services to connect companies with clients by leveraging their unique strengths and core competencies while understanding their business goals and identifying growth opportunities.

“Achieve Unite’s approach is to develop and execute channel strategies in partnership with our clients, involving them in every step of the process,” comments Achieve Unite Founder and CEO Theresa Caragol.  “As a partner-centric company, we apply a laser focus on the success of the channel that ensures new business opportunities and maximum ROI.”

Achieve Unite, in an effort to help companies from channel inception to successful development and engagement, also releases “The 5 Forces Impacting the Success of Tomorrow’s Channel,” a strategic approach that improves customer experience, increases revenue growth through customized alliance programs, and applies the key principles of performance partnering to drive business acceleration.  The technology industry is changing at an unprecedented rate, and to survive and thrive will require a new approach to developing alliances and partner ecosystems, with opportunities for mutually beneficial relationships and productive synergies between technology, software, and cloud companies.

The “5 Forces Impacting the Success of Tomorrow’s Channel” include:

  1. Power has shifted to the end-user, with client conversations centered around new capabilities, not better infrastructure.
  2. Convergence around integrated solutions will give rise to five enterprise platforms: information systems, customer experience, data analytics, IoT and ecosystems.
  3. “Vertizontal” Solutions delivered from the cloud combine the best of horizontal scale and vertical specificity.
  4. Help Wanted signs are increasingly likely to be answered by new forms of tech delivery and higher productivity than new employees, due to the persistent shortage of high-tech, experienced labor.
  5. Mutual Trust must permeate throughout all relationships between partners with critical dependencies built into their solution delivery model.

This unique approach enables Achieve Unite to create a custom action plan to assist organizations, senior executives and management to reach their corporate, personal and professional goals.  In addition to developing and executing channel strategies and partner alliances that target new business opportunities, Achieve Unite channel experts and advisors can help players in the channel industry minimize operating expenses, take advantage of industry trends such as channel automation, and develop programs that support women in technology.
